A Note From Ashleigh: Why We Started Noody
Ever since Georgie was a tiny baby, she had severe eczema that would flare up in red, raw, itchy patches all over her delicate skin. We tried every lotion, cream, and ointment on the market, but nothing gave her lasting relief. The eczema dramatically impacted my sweet girl's wellbeing… I recall times when she would cry for hours, unable to sleep through the night because of the unrelenting itch. As a new mum, it was agonising to see her suffering like that. Having spent 15 years in the skincare industry, I knew what her skin needed but struggled to find formulas that supported and healed her skin, in packaging that I was drawn to and wanted to have in my bathroom. I knew I wanted to create my own, a truly clean, nurturing formula - something we could feel good about slathering all over our kids' delicate skin. We began formulating the products when I was pregnant with my second child. Freddie developed the same chronic eczema at only a few weeks old and was our real life guinea pig. We would slather him in lab samples while we worked on perfecting our formulas.
With my background as a holistic facialist and years of experience working with the skin, I knew I had the foundation of knowledge to create a solution. Something that would not only soothe, but support the skin to heal. Something strictly natural, without nasties, all-kind ingredients that support, protect and heal even the most young, sensitive and delicate skin. We also wanted to create a brand that was fun and engaging for children, yet aesthetically pleasing to display in our bathroom. Beyond the skincare, we strive to foster community to support parents and create a brand that is engaging for the kids it is designed for.
After using the most recent iteration, the formulation you now know and love as Noody, we knew we had a winner: Georgie's flaky patches started healing, and her persistent itch finally calmed. Freddie stopped crying through the night. As parents, giving our kids that relief was the most incredible feeling. The stress of a skin condition (or any health condition!) goes beyond the symptoms themselves, and we knew there were so many other families dealing with the same issues.
